Windtech Consultants were appointed to undertake wind tunnel testing for Motera Cricket Stadium Project located in Ahmedabad, India. Windtech’s scope of services included a wind study for wind-induced structural loads and a façade cladding pressure study for the proposed stadium.

Wind-Induced Structural response study was conducted estimated the maximum, minimum and mean values of selected load effects relating to the response of the structure, which are supplied by the structural engineer. A total of 40 load effects have been supplied for analysis in this wind study and estimates the corresponding critical patch load combination for each maximum and minimum peak load effect. This provides a design load cases for the structure. The wind-induced dynamic structural response of the structure is derived from the measured directional external pressures acting on the façade using the Load Response Correlation (LRC) technique.

A façade cladding pressure study was also carried out to provide the most accurate estimate of the wind pressures on façade cladding elements on the entire stadium envelope. The report issued included the full results for the 100-year return period.
