Experience
Simon Ronald has been with Windtech Consultants since 2008, proving to be a key wind engineer on many projects. Before joining Windtech, Simon’s research interests included using hot-wire anemometry in a boundary-layer wind tunnel, pressure, and computer control systems.
Since joining Windtech, he has undertaken numerous wind tunnel studies using Windtech’s three boundary layer wind tunnels. These include façade and cladding pressure studies, the study of structural loads and accelerations for tall buildings, and aeroelastic model studies for very tall/slender tower buildings.
Simon also has extensive experience in various environmental wind engineering studies. These include studies of pedestrian wind environments, air quality and air pollution/smoke dispersion, natural ventilation, and wind noise studies.
In addition to the above, Simon has experience in onsite measurement of building motion and performance testing of façade elements.
